A 16-year-old from Western Australia's South West has completed an 'unreal' 660km run along the Gibb River Road, raising over $23,000 to help homeless people.

Lochlan Gilbert, from Capel, travelled over 2,000 kilometres to the state's north to take on the challenge, which involved running about 50km a day in 6km bursts, starting at 4am and resting in the heat of the day.

A challenging journey

The teenager spent two months training after school, but admitted more preparation would have been ideal. During the run, both his feet swelled up with suspected stress fractures early in the challenge.
