A recent tragic incident in the Thai tourist hub of Pattaya has brought attention to the darker side of the city's thriving sex industry. The gruesome death of 17-year-old Tunchanok Donhomla, found in a suitcase along railway tracks, has shocked locals and tourists alike.

Tunchanok, affectionately known as 'Cake', had travelled from her hometown of Kalasin to Pattaya, telling her family she was going on a short holiday. According to police and CCTV footage, she had met Australian man Simon Carman, 45, along Beach Road two days prior to her death. The pair then went to his apartment, where a dispute occurred.
